Do We Deserve It ?

Poem

Do We Deserve It ?

The sky, the land, the wind of course,
Are nature's beauty in every sense.
The flowers that blossom every spring,
The trees that shed in every autumn.
The bright sky, the twinkling stars,
The odourless air, the tasteless water.
Nature has given everything,
But still, a question rises in my mind —
Do we deserve it?

The air to breathe, the water to drink,
The food to eat, the trees to shelter.
The eyes to see, the nose to breathe,
The ears to hear, the mouth to eat.
The tongue to speak, the fingers to write,
The legs to stand, the hands to do.
Nature has given everything,
But still, a question rises in my mind —
Do we deserve it?

The clouds to come, the rain to fall,
The night to sleep, the day to wake.
But still, a question rises in my mind —
Do we deserve it?
No, no, no — we don’t deserve it.
We are spoiling nature's art.
We make industries where forests should come,
We make land where water should run.

Don’t think it will not punish,
It will not pardon us for every fault.
Earthquakes come, tsunamis come,
And destroy our whole human world.
